Yoga Beyond The Classes- Welcome Post!

Hi there! Thank you so much for visiting my website today. I’m so excited to share my new blog with you.

As you may or may not already know, yoga is something that is extremely rich. Not only with physical asana and breath practice, but with history and philosophy too. All of these things are extremely fascinating, but also very hard to squeeze into your typical hour-long yoga class. That’s why I’ve decided to create this blog for my yoga students and yoga practitioners from any walk of life who are looking to learn more about the spiritual, non physical side of their yoga practice. I’ve named this blog Yoga: Beyond the Classes! For me, yoga means so many different things. It is a physical practice, a mental practice, and a spiritual practice. When I practice yoga I stretch and strengthen my body, I calm my mind and breath, and I also feel more connected with nature and the universal energy that is all around us. All of these things are what keeps me coming back to my mat. When I teach yoga, my main focus for my students is mainly to ease any stresses they may have, and to have them practice mindfulness while focusing on the body and breath in the physical asana practice. Those are some key aspects of practicing yoga, but there is also so much more to yoga than I can possibly squeeze into a class! In this blog, I will write more about the side of yoga that is off the mat, and give my students who want to deepen their practice a space to read about these things from a teacher they know. And if you’re not one of my students and you happen to just be passing through my website, welcome to you too! I hope you can gain insight and knowledge from this blog.
